This is what I have learnt and found very useful for applying to various positions, don't just stick to one resume/CV. Most of the people don't just get it, using just one general copy of it won't help. It has to be tailor made for each job you apply to. Showcase where you can excel, where your experience is more. What your achievements are. Doing this actually increases the chances of getting noticed while making sure you are using the right keywords. Keywords are crucial when it comes to shortlisting a profile, make sure keywords in the JD matches with your experience and are included in your CV/Resume.

The most effective resume is highly tailored to the specific position. If you are applying to lots of different positions. Even if they are similar. Then you need multiple master versions of your resume. --- Now that you have 3+ master versions of your resume, the work does not stop there. Those master versions should be tweaked each time you apply. Depending on the target position, the entire narrative on your resume may shift. A few simple shifts: 1: The Headline - be specific in what you are applying to. 2: The Summary - relevant skills, experiences, quantification. 3: Highlight - 2 or 3 relevant achievements. 4: The Keywords - pulled directly from the JD. 5: Professional Experience - yep, sometimes you have to go all in.
