Working for family companies, start up companies besides MNCs helped me a great deal. Of all the three, I enjoyed and grew both as a professional and a person in a start up environment. Expect the unexpected, go the ground/field, being hands on, being conservative yet very progressive and modern, here and now attitude, readiness to volunteer and be prepared to switch roles and importance of compassion, fairness, transparency and human have never been so critical elsewhere. But above all, being good t your work, fast learning abilities and ready to change and experience, readiness to fail and learn is an important skill that gets honed and important.

Als Teil des Startup-Ökosystems kann ich bestätigen, dass der Übergang von einer traditionellen Karriere in die Startup-Welt sowohl herausfordernd als auch bereichernd sein kann. Es erfordert eine besondere Art von Anpassungsfähigkeit, Belastbarkeit und Bereitschaft, über den eigenen Tellerrand hinauszublicken. Ich sehe diese Herausforderungen als Teil eines intensiven Lern- und Wachstumsprozesses. - Unlike traditional big companies, you need to do everything you need outside your specialities. Of course, your core specialities are expected. However, with limited resources of staff and new challenges popping out every days, you need to fix them by yourself to a certain level. - Perfect fixings are not expected but you need to possess willingness to tackle against new challenges and to learn basics of the field to do so.

Switching career paths in the startup world can be exciting yet a challenging endeavour. One potential challenge you may encounter is Culture Shock and/or Culture Fit, because startups often have unique cultures that may differ significantly from your previous work environment, so you can research the startup's culture thoroughly before applying. Also, during interviews you can ask questions to understand their values, work style and expectations.

- Cultures in startups are perfectly different from those of startups. Speed is fatal to survive and long time works sometimes weekend works are necessary. They focus on the results instead of process. - If you are awaiting boss’s orders, you may lose your job soon. Rather proactive behaviors are essentially because everybody is busy. - If you cam from traditional business world, change your mind set from Day 1.

When you are doing a job, money is never an issue. Once you switch to a startup, money is always an issue. You might find yourself just juggling it from here to there in your initial days. So, be prepared to manage your finances like a pro.

Startups are env. where there is a need for great tolerance to: - rapid changes, - over night adjustments in terms of options, budget, people, scope etc - and even startup life cycle. In terms of the financial fluidity, it is important to understand that startups are working a bit the other way around as the established companies Est. You could get the supports from your business partners. In addition, you may be able to know possible your new employees in the society.
