Managing resources and learning new business skills like finance and marketing can be tough too, especially when you're used to technical work.

When attempting to get funding, or financing, realize the best finance is from paying customers. Next, understand there are people in finance, who have been trained by their universities, to devalue YOU. That means, they are equipped with specific training to provide 'financial instruments' which are designed to separate you from whatever asset you made. As you make a business with them, pretty soon, you will not control the thing you made, or the company you founded. Unless you successfully educate yourself about the whole process in advance especially the corporate and legal gotchas. Or are lucky. Unfortunately, it's you against trained financial 'assassins', so ... at least, find a good lawyer, and consult with him/her often.
