Having all the findings of the analysis, getting them validated once more prior to presentation, explaining the whole process stepwise, preparing presentation slides, time for doubt clearing sessions about the analysis to be sure we are on track, discussion to drive key interpretation and decision taking.

If you anticipate a time crunch, you want to be able to compartmentalize things, and the ability to figure that out comes with experience. Gantt charts are amongst the most helpful things you can get good at. These will model the temporal aspects of processes. Break your processes down into different components and ask yourself how the tasks are ultimately dependent upon others. Are they dependent upon code transformations, data cleaning, discussions, etc. Some tasks can be done in advance of having the data by using spoofs. Others cannot be. You can maximize your time by deconstructing the tasks. Divide and conquer goes a long way, but to do that, you have to be able to maintain conventions across the team.

Key Skill: Staying current with new data science techniques and technologies. The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools can be a significant advantage. Personal Experience: I make it a point to dedicate time each week to learning, whether it’s a new programming technique, algorithm, or tool. This habit has helped me adapt to new challenges quickly and bring innovative solutions to the table.

Identifying the decision maker and establishing partnerships with business, product, and technical collaborators can be crucial. For instance, within a Product Manager's domain, it's essential to engage with the individual responsible for conveying business requirements and deliverables effectively. Another valuable insight is that delivering something, even if it falls short of the original deadline, is preferable to delivering nothing at all. Making an impact, even with a short-term or partial solution, and aligning on a mid to long-term vision or plan can be highly impactful.

What is important to consider is to not overthink or over engineer the problem at hand. As data scientists, we always feel we want to showcase our skills and use all techniques at hand when it may not be necessary. When a deadline is looming, consider the scope and solve the problem as simply as possible first, and then delve deeper if needed whilst communicating this to the stakeholder.
