Eco-friendly materials come in all forms and colors these days! And many areas of the world are mandating that we stop using materials that cause the most harm to our environment anyway. If you're working with a mill to source a polyester fabric, ask them if there is a recycled option. If you're in need of a waterproof membrane, ask if it comes without PFAS and if it comes with C0 coating options. Pretty soon (ok, now, honestly), you won't be able to import goods that don't follow these suggestions anyway, so you might as well start sourcing them! There should honestly be almost no effect on the design. Recycled or organic options look and feel almost identical (and sometimes are even softer!) to their less eco-friendly counterparts.

There is such a wide range of sustainable materials that act, drape, or wear in a variety of ways that the restrictions are more on the financial side rather than functionality.
