It's a general problem facing all leads while starting a new design which is not implemented or insufficient reference database. I proposed to the first, study/review statutory requirements, applicable standards (IEC/BIS/OISD/NFPA/NEC etc.) In some of the cases you may not get a direct answer. Then, you should deep drive into the standard and conclude it with safety margin.
