If you become aware about project delays, it is very important that you inform your client as soon as possible. Be transparent about the reasons for the delay and the steps being taken to overcome the impact. From my point of view, it is also important to do this in person and not just by email. When communicating, it is not helpful to blame others or make excuses. Make it clear that it is your responsibility to solve the problems. This will help the stakeholder to maintain trust in you.

From my work experience, I believe it's important to be open and honest with your stakeholders about any delays and how you're addressing them. Keep communication clear and give regular updates. During my Program Management certification on Udemy, I learned that setting realistic expectations is essential for building and maintaining trust. For instance, in a recruitment project, we faced delays because some candidates unexpectedly dropped out. We quickly informed our clients and shared our plan to find new candidates, which helped keep their trust in our process.
