Well-trained staff are the backbone of maintaining quality standards. Ensure that all employees are thoroughly trained in both new and existing quality control processes. You can’t expect employees to train everywhere and up production at the same time, that leads to burn out. Tired employees make bad parts and bad decisions. It’s a fact of life, when you are tired you don’t perform as well. So allowing your employees to be comfortable while working can make a huge difference. You have to have supervisors who are dialed in and making sure that a comfortable working environment doesn’t turn into a lazy one, but that should be a part of their role to begin with. Nobody is going to make good parts standing for 12 hours in a Cleanroom, with minimal breaks. Swap employees out, give people a chance to recharge and refresh. You will get a lot more effort with a little humanity.
