When people feel heard and included, they’re more likely to buy in. Finally, emphasize the shared goal: getting everyone home safe. It’s not about winning an argument—it’s about safeguarding lives.

Listen to the perspectives of the Staff to understand the Factors resulting in Conflict.Is it due to Experiences, Norms or difficulties in adopting new Changes to Safety Practices? Demonstrate an appreciation of the different Experiences and Backgrounds, and find a way to incorporate their Views in the Safety Processes so as to get their buy-in and support. Nominate a Staff, with demonstrated positive influencing Skills, to be the Ambassador who leads the wider adoption of the Safety Standards, then review and monitor progress to ensure that Safety Requirements are being followed. Through regular Communication, Safety Inspections and Walkarounds, not only reiterate the Message but also demonstrate that you are also compliant with Safety.
