Regularly update the training to include new safety regulations, best practices, and technological advancements. Hazards in construction are many and often ignored. For example building materials (chunks of mortar not cleaned up, pieces of wood left scattered causing tripping issues. Piles of rebar everywhere. Access and Egress to the work area is compromised due to all the clutter of materials. Attempts with contractors to rectify the situation to make the workplace safer with housekeeping failed. I wrote up a stop work order and presented it to the PM at the contractors safety meeting. It remained in effect the whole day. This forced massive cleaning pm all levels. A general safety meeting was held with all workers to hold them accountable for worksite housekeeping. A complete inspection was performed with the site super, foremen, safety officer.
