I would be careful with the term 'fit' or 'culture fit.' What you don't want is to hire what you already have. Your team will lack diversity. And diversity brings in new and interesting perspectives. I would look to the team to which you're hiring someone into. What are the strengths already on the team and where are their opportunities to bridge any gaps? What would help this team improve performance? Then, create interview questions that will help you identify that talent. Think of past projects that didn't go well. Ask questions so you understand what the candidate would add in those situations? And don't forget to ask the team members for insights. Involve them in the interview process.
