The third thing you should research is the startup's market and industry. What are the trends, opportunities, and threats in their sector or niche? Who are their main competitors or partners? How do they position themselves in the market and differentiate their value proposition? What are the customer needs, pain points, and feedback? You should be able to show your awareness of their market and industry and how you can help them achieve their growth and innovation objectives.

4 The startup's team and culture

The fourth thing you should research is the startup's team and culture. Who are the founders, investors, advisors, and key employees? What are their backgrounds, roles, and responsibilities? How do they communicate, collaborate, and make decisions? What are the values, norms, and expectations of their culture? How do they handle feedback, conflict, and failure? You should be able to express your fit and compatibility with their team and culture and how you can add value and diversity to their organization.

The fifth thing you should research is the startup's challenges and goals. What are the main problems or issues they are facing or anticipating? How are they addressing or solving them? What are their short-term and long-term goals and milestones? How do they prioritize and allocate their resources and efforts? You should be able to identify and discuss their challenges and goals and how you can support and enhance their solutions and strategies.

6 The startup's questions and expectations

The sixth thing you should research is the startup's questions and expectations. What are the typical or common questions they ask in the interview? How can you prepare and practice your answers? What are the skills, qualities, and experiences they are looking for in a candidate? How can you showcase your strengths, achievements, and potential? What are the criteria or standards they use to evaluate and select candidates? How can you follow up and stand out from the crowd? You should be able to answer their questions and expectations and how you can exceed and impress them.
