One thing I’ve found helpful is getting creative with check-in’s, 1-1, career conversations, retrospectives and lessons learned sessions with the team after a big project or event. If you come with a collaborative agenda that’s fun and engaging - the distance doesn’t seem to matter as much. Pip Decks (pipdecks.com) are an incredible resource. Highly recommend for any manager whether in-person/remote to connect with people expecting more out of the management team patience, but it’s *especially* helpful when remote.
