I started studying civil engineering technology this year. I have 27 years of sales experience in concrete, PVF, roofing, and fasteners, so I was thinking it would be a relatable experience. As I am through my first year, none of that work experience is relevant. That being said, even the estimating courses that I studied at the same institution are vastly different. My advice is to sit back and love the journey. You are a kid again. Make the most of this opportunity as you can.

The interview process for sales jobs can be different from other industries. You should also be prepared to sell yourself and your skills to potential employers. Do you have a story where you succeeded? What about one where you lost a deal and what you learned? If you don't get one now!
