We always miss to stay connected with most of our relationship due to our workload or priorities To start our reconnect with people, we first need to share our gratitude for having such a great person to support us through our tough days. We can share a nostalgic memory which will rekindle our affection towards each other. Also, you can plan and meeting shortly if they are available in a closer locality , relationships are key towards emotional intelligence and internal peace. So being grateful for people who contribute to our daily life is very important.

Oh.... I don't know if I agree. Make sure it is truly organic if you are going to "Give Value" on your first time re-igniting a relationship. Too often this step comes across as a "give to get." I would much rather you just reach out and say "Hey, it's been a super long time but you came to mind today and I would love to know how life's going. If you have 5 minutes send me an update, or would love to catch up over Zoom." That feels authentic. I'd rather you just care, than force value.

In my experience, we just have to take the action and acknowledge the misstep of losing touch. It happens. Be bold and brave. Pick up the phone and simple say - I apologize for not reaching out sooner and I would Like to reconnect. It is honest and human. Let’s be honest, they haven’t called you either. Do not over think it. Just reach out and do the right thing. Chances are they will appreciate your boldness and want to reconnect too

The key is to make sure people know your worth. Make yourself the expert on a topic and keep talking about that topic. Then with time, people will start to think of you when they think of the topic, and reach out when they need an expert in that area. It takes time and patience to built awareness, but if you dare to stand out, people will find you.

This is very true. For example, I used to send personalized voice messages through WhatsApp instead of company themed greeting cards on public holidays for important contacts.

Always be honest. Preferably vulnerable. People respond to people, not to needs, desires or opportunities. It's all about the people connection. If you haven't been good at keeping a connection, you should the conversation with why. Give context, be honest and show yourself.

One thing I have found useful is to drop a message with an update on whats changed in my life since we last spoke and ask how they are getting on. A nice way to kick start a conversation. People lose contact for lots of reasons. Life takes over. It’s never too late to reconnect

Follow up feels boring ... it's where the rewards lies in networking and relationship management. It's soooooo easy to overlook. A TED talk is 18-20 minutes. Turn on the timer and take 20 minutes to 'shop in your own networking closet.' Say hello before you 'need' anyone. One of the top ways I maintain connections is to send them a LinkedIn post that is relevant to their world.

You don’t need to maintain a strong connection in this way. Make connections into friends and you will always enjoy their company and find it easy to reconnect. If you don’t feel that way about someone then let them go!
