Find the grids or reticula is essential to construct your graphics or the branding is based of... if you don't have a manual can help you to construct your laitmotifs, so keep those basics in mind, as well as colors, lines, style, culture or others that are a way to construct in what it is already there. Keep in mind that your client and you have mutual goals and understands your work, because it's not about a personal taste it's what the final client needs. So having a meeting and later sign a contract to set mutual goals and a have mutual "key elements" ;)
