A system that is not updated implies great risks; however, these vulnerabilities may be absorbed by other means. Your systems should always be updated within a time frame to guard against threats. Provide your employees with ongoing training sessions that teach them real-world threats and the risks of not completing updates. Also, make certain your policies are clear and enforceable, including the penalties for failing to comply. Creating a culture of awareness and accountability greatly provides your organization with a better chance to ward off cyberattacks.

🎯 Automate Updates: Deploy automated patch management tools to ensure updates are applied without user intervention. 🎯 Gamify Compliance: Create competitions or rewards for teams completing updates promptly to make it engaging. 🎯 Enable Forced Updates: Configure critical systems to apply updates automatically and restart if necessary. 🎯 Educate with Real-World Stories: Share relatable breach scenarios caused by ignored updates to emphasize risks. 🎯 Monitor for Non-Compliance: Use endpoint management tools to flag devices missing critical updates. 🎯 Offer Incentives: Reward employees who maintain updated systems to encourage positive behavior. 🎯 Simulate Breaches: Run controlled exercises showing how outdated systems can compromise.

To foster a culture of cybersecurity within your team, lead by example by demonstrating your commitment to security best practices. Equip your team with the necessary tools and resources, such as strong passwords, updated software, and security training. Recognize and reward employees who prioritize cybersecurity. Involve your team in the process by discussing security concerns and incorporating their input into your organization's security measures. Finally, integrate cybersecurity into your organization's culture by regularly discussing it, prioritizing it in decision-making, and holding individuals accountable for their actions. By implementing these strategies, you can create a more secure environment for your team and your organization

I would suggest mandatory updates after being tested in a non-production environment. I know clients sometimes complain that they are in the middle of a task and cannot reboot. Again, this subject should be part of a basic cybersecurity training program; updates are required.
