The common notion about traditional educators is that they consider hybrid learning learning model unnecessary. Whereas, I have seen good traditional educators becoming great by value adding the physical face-to-face, immersive, interactive and in-person collaborations with the online's flexibility, extended community, and self-paced dynamism. In fact the transitioning from traditional to hybrid learning model is a necessary co-creation of performing arts, both on fixed stages and on portable screens ...a new mantra of traditional educators!

Change is always tough, especially in academia! I'd start by showcasing successful hybrid programs. It's about winning hearts and minds, and demonstrating that hybrid learning can enhance, not replace, quality teaching.

To accelerate the faculty transition to hybrid learning: make the case for change, provide examples of change, and support the change: 1. Use student input and research on the science of teaching and learning to demonstrate why it's needed and why it works 2. Faculty learn from peers and are best inspired to adopt new instructional strategies from peers 3. Hybrid learning is typically more resource intensive so faculty may need support to manage the tech, facilitate conversations, and design assignments.
