Being humble and knowing your position and level is essential and then constructing up from there. It's important to gain experience and to practice "a lot". Software development skills are similar to playing the piano, the more you practice the better you become at it but it is important to support your practice with theory, design patterns, etc. It is not strictly required, except for AI, but in my experience, an understanding of advanced mathematics can set you apart. Start by solving problems to master programming with C to understand the lower levels of the computer, how memory works, and how manipulating it can be extremely useful. From there learn you can learn JavaScript to master fullstack and SQL, also Python.

One of the most unconsidered risks is personal risk. This is why many software projects become political. Often when people talk about “learning the business” they are simply considering the customer, a financial tradeoff, or a market. The business critically involves your team. The faster you can learn their “risks” - the more likely you are to succeed.
