I agree with this but i also think that sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new, like going for a job or hiring an employee that you normally wouldn’t, can be what you needed.

I am in the security industry an was taught this theory to customer service early on in my career by Robert Weber. It’s called the coke theory. Someone comes up to you an says my coke was just stolen from my locker. You immediately give the person your full attention an listen to their issue. An you attempt in any way you can you locate that coke. You might never find it, but that person now knows you care an will tell others you cared. So later when they hear or witness something major they will be more likely to come to you in the future an tell others hey that security officer helped me I bet he will do the same for you. Perspective is everything in customer service.

True value within the AEC & MEP space is found when a Recruiter spends time to learn about the industry they are working within. Becoming a subject matter expert allows Recruiters to have higher level conversations with clients and candidates. The best way to learn is to ask the appropriate questions. During this initial conversation be mindful of who you are meeting with and there time. As a Recruiter you should be able to take the information you have learned and expand on it with research outside of the initial conversation. Utilize the interview process to learn more about the industry. Expert level candidates love to share about their experience. Be inquisitive and ask targeted questions. Time management is key to success.

I agree completely!! I remember a time i was working as a cashier at a gas station and the manager had already left for the day. I was doing the side work while another girl was working the register, a customer got mad and refused to listen to her so she called me over. By staying calm and explaining everything to her calmly and clearly, she was calmed and respectful in a matter of minutes and she finally understood what the other cashier was trying to say.

Communication is key….being able to listen, understand and deliver a product…in this case, customer service…takes some patience, empathy and I think you need have some sort of buy in. For my b profession…I believe if you are part of a community, live, work and play, you truly have that community’s best interest.

Communication is key! Miscommunications can be costly, not only in monetary form but also in work relationships. Working in the public sector, oftentimes our stakeholders find out information before staff, and that can be alarming and it leaves employees feeling unprepared or less knowledgeable.

Clear communication can be a challenge, especially if a situation is filled with time pressure and a lot of to-dos which would like to be solved at the same time. Most important is to take a deep breath and focus on the main message you need to deliver. Make sure that this person is also receiving this message. Very often it is to hear if someone understands you or not, even if they say yes. Please do not go the easy way if you have the feeling the person you talked to did not understand what you were trying to deliver and was just giving you a yes, so he or she can go to the next task. Always stick to clear communication and if you have to double check in very busy times when people you talk to could be stressed.

I agree with this. When it comes to customer service and retention, giving people options and really listening to their needs, hearing what they truly want and addressing any concerns would go a long way to deliver top notch customer service and for the customers/clients to keep coming back and to bring referrals in.

Responsiveness is vital to maintaining a vendor/customer relationship. If you are quick to respond you are more likely to meet the customer’s need before competitors, and gain rapport, as well as, future business with the customer.

This applies to any industry! Customers expect to be acknowledged even if it's exactly that- a response that you are actively working on a response. This allows more time to provide a comprehensive answer and gives your customer the satisfaction of acknowledgement. I receive positive feedback and typically a happier customer when I keep them updated on the progress if a need cannot be met immediately. "Anticipate, Engage, Exceed" is the mantra I instill within my team. Proactively anticipate your customer's needs, engage with them before they have to reach out, and exceed their expectations with a timely response.

The key to providing excellent customer service is to be a good listener. Be a good listener and respond accordingly. Only by truly hearing a customer can you effectively respond to their need.

I have always had a good work ethics and believe that providing the best service is key to achieving a position you will enjoy and like. I enjoy helping people to get results that will be beneficial to the client.

In my field of case management, support is the best thing we can do for a client. Even if things aren’t working out in their favor, support is beneficial. Resources are the best way, but assisting clients with other options and letting them know you’re there will assist them in being accountable for the outcome of their own success.

I have employees who have never worked in the field which requires them to go into prisons. I have to prepare them and assist them while we are in facilities. I also have employees who have only worked in facilities who are now working customer service and need support on being empathetic. Helping each group find their balance is vital to what we do.

Always be there for the member and always be active listening knowing what they need support in and with what and give the members ideas to facilitate their entrance in a successful placement in the work field. Active listening to questions on an interview may assist you and is key to knowing how to answer questions that can lead to a possible job placement position.

Follow-up is crucial to obtaining and maintaining a customer’s business. Follow-up doesn’t just include following up on quotes, or phone calls to customers, it can also include “courtesy checks”. By this I mean checking in on the customer - see how the product is working for them, obtain feedback. This way we can make sure to improve on future endeavors and know what to maintain, as is.

Following up with a customer in a line of business is crucial to letting and gaining the members trust in them knowing they can trust you to resolve their issue and as well builds great connections and relationships with members and allows for members and clients room to grow and excel in customer service staffing services.

Follow up is communication. I mentioned earlier that it needs to be intentional and on purpose. Following up is indeed just that. Your client doesn’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Follow up is an absolutely critical component.

I agree consistent follow up is crucial throughout the staffing process for both parties. It makes both sides feel comfortable that the recruiter cares & wants to resolve in a timely manner. I think the follow up even after you are hired is just important. It gives a more personal approach and most likely will turn into a referral or will come back to you for future opportunities.

I strive to make sure all my clients understand their policy, I employ a vast group of people that can communicate in many languages so that our clients have a clear understanding of what they need. It is almost as important to me that I make a note of a few personal details about my clients. I will ask them next time they are in how their day with the grandkids went or about their new baby etc. They know I am paying attention when I share those details the next time I see them. Last week I ran into a client in another store and asked how they were enjoying their new Toyota? They were shocked that i had remembered them.

It is crucial to ensure that people feel important and comfortable. Using their name, reflecting their personality, and tailoring each individual's experience will significantly impact the customer, ensuring they remember the services and you. It's all in the details.

This experience taught me we can’t interview people like we completed a checklist. I have to adapt myself to every candidate. Now, I propose several services to my candidates besides the simple interview: coaching before the interview, working on CV improvement, sharing information about the market, and conversation over a coffee instead of in my office. Every day, I work with humans, and each human is different, so it’s not logical to use the same approach for everyone. It’s the same for my clients. Some contact me to find their new talents, and some contact me to have remuneration study. I offer the service I would want for myself as a candidate or client!

I am huge on personalized service. I believe you get what you give, not always, but if I remember that motto then it reminds me to always be courteous and polite. I am terrible with names, so I make it a point to ask for their name and then use it at least once while assisting them.

Remember the customer is not always right. This is a big misconception. Sometimes you need to stand your ground. At the end of the day everyone needs to be happy. Sometimes customers just want to complain, just to have someone that will listen to them. Lots of lonely people in this world.

A golden rule which helped me: You do not have customers, you have guests. This sounds very simple and a lot of people do not see a difference, but trust me, there is one. You spend time with your guests, even if it is just 5 minutes, make them feel welcome any minute of it. This changed my work attitude and takes the pressure of the high responsibility you have while you give them hospitality. You give them the most important feeling: Do not worry, you are in good hands. No matter which needs they have, we find the solution. This safety feeling you give them, will make you memorable.

One of the major points that I've learned is to ensure your client is felt heard with any type of feedback they give, positive or negative. I worked with one client who hasn't completely satisfied with her services and I acknowledged that she didn't receive the best service possible and apologized for it after she detailed what happened, but even though I offered a discount on her invoice she refused it and still left a positive review of the company.
