Over the years I have found the most critical first step in managing change is to accurately document the requirements. It seems simple but is fundamental to accurately evaluating the impacts to the project across all work streams, resources, costs and timelines. I have seen many hours wasted evaluating impacts of a change request only to find that requirements were not clear. At this stage you need to get to enough information about the requirements to facilitate effective evaluation. This is where an effective change control/request process will prove invaluable to document and guide the evaluation.

Here are some key factors 1. Leadership Support: leadership support is crucial for successful CM. . 2. Stakeholder Engagement: who will be impacted by the change and involve them early . Seek their input, address their concerns, and keep them informed throughout the project . 3. Clear Communication : keep all informed. 4. Assessment : Assess the readiness for change 5. Methodologies: such as Prosci ADKAR model, Kotter's 8-Step Change Model to guide the change process effectively. 6. Pilot Testing: piloting in a small-scale . 7. Risk Management : Identify potential risks and develop mitigation actions to adjust the CM plan as needed. 8. Continuous Improvement : seeking feedback, evaluating the outcomes of the change.

The major impacts I have seen so far in these change requests are financial, legal/obligatory and patient safety that the project team must accept.

Auch für die Darstellung, weshalb der zeitliche Projektumfang ausgeweitet werden soll/muss, ist die schriftliche Dokumentation hilfreich. Von Vereinbarungen à la "wir vertrauen einander, uns reicht, dass wir darüber gesprochen haben" rate ich ab. Denn zum einen weiss keine/keiner, wie lange die andere Person noch im Projekt/der Firma arbeitet, zum anderen zählt bei Unstimmigkeiten (meist) einzig die schriftlich Projektdokumentation.

Integrated solutions as SAP and DevOps tools with ITSM tools should always be a priority for companies which want to sucessfully maintain a health and strong CMDB and ITSM process workflow. A cracked Change Module will be inefficient and will not properly work for continuous improvement. That's why stakeholders should take ITSM processes serious in order to report fixes and enhancements that the module might implement. In that case the IT Change Management professional alongside the IT Project Manager should work closely with the ITSM Dev Team in order to expedite improvements.

You can build the most fabulous widget with all the bells and whistles but if your end users are not trained and not confident to roll with the new system on day one you Will experience tears and lack of confidence. For example, is it brand new automation or enhancements? If new, there needs to be a lot more communications regarding the business vision, strategy that was driving the change. I have seen many IT projects fail with perfect deliverables. What happens is that the business is simply not ready. Sponsorship is key here, but in your change plan you must assess the ability for the business to adopt and adjust accordingly.
