Time is everyone's greatest non-renewable resource, and VCs (especially GPs) are pulled in so many directions. Sourcing/selection/underwriting, portfolio support and value-add, fundraising, running the firm, generally expanding networks and visibility...SO much to do! I think that often GPs are spending too much time on sourcing and not enough on portfolio support; too much on fundraising and not enough on running the firm and teams. But everyone has to dial in a mix that works for them, and having a strong team is the only way to not go insane doing this work!
