Before attempting to solve a problem, you need to truly understand the issue at hand by putting yourself in your partner's shoes. Listen to what they are saying, and think about how they have gotten to this point. Ask questions to better understand what they are saying. Repeat back what they are saying to ensure you 'get' what they are trying to communicate. Only once you are fully aligned and truly understand where your partner is coming from can you take the next steps to solve the problem and move past the issue.

I mean to say this to compel whoever reads this to keep an open mind and understand everyone could have a lesson to teach you. Believe that another can bring a solution better than yours, otherwise you will not succeed.

Goals in my opinion is what makes the difference in any business related matter. Goals definition starts when we start thinking in our business missions. They are the reasons behind being in business. Hence defining and setting goals is a concept and more of a way of life in business, rather than a tool that we use occasionally. In partner's discission, and before setting goals, we need to set the foundation of trust, they need to feel that we clearly understand their pains and ginuenly trying to sort them out. As they need to be assured that we know exactly what we are doing. When trust is established, goals definition gets soofter in discussion and when expertize is witnessed problem solutions is almost guaranteed.

You and your partners have each the responsibility of understanding goal setting and direction, you should have the capacity of understanding what you are supposed to achieve. Discussions should be about the proper way of reaching the goals set and the just distribution of effort. Intelectual direction isn’t enough to claim contribution. Put on the work. Contribute and put in some elbow grease. Every job has a need for grind and grit. Listen to your partners and try to convene on the best way to proceed. If you feel the need to lead, work on yourself and prepare yourself for that setting, never force yourself or assume to be above the matter at hand for unrelated things that don’t contribute to the task in hand. Be humble.

Convene on ways to procede and put trust on your partners. If you are smart you will be able to accept solutions coming from others, and if they are in the right they should in turn look to improve the way to proceed with your input. And you should do the same when you get to grab the stick. Don’t cut anyone short. Allow everyone to assess if they are overextending their contribution as many will realise their mistake if they are proposing a wrong proposal. Let everyone be confident and unworried of making a mistaken proposal. That is the only way you will all allow free flow of ideas. Speak your mind, maybe I’ll spark an idea on someone else, or they could pick up the train of thought and carry on building in a group made foundation.

Contribute with the tools you have learned from your particular field of knowledge, thus bringing a professional approach to decision making. Then rely on the belief that everyone is capable of logical thought, or has received instruction on how to apply logic. Keep on adding gold nuggets, never monologues. You’ll all reach a good conclusion.

On this, don’t be tempted to micromanage or babysit your peers. Trust you are all there for a reason, and trust that everyone made sure to be clear about the plan to proceed, even if clarification has been needed at any point of the process.
