I have always aspired to learn medical writing and have followed several professionals on LinkedIn. One such professional developed a course on medical writing that caught my attention. This course significantly helped me by providing valuable, actionable steps to begin a career in medical writing. Regardless of the field you wish to pursue, resources to upskill are readily available online. Start your research early, as it takes time to identify and validate the most effective learning resources.

Over my career I have realised that Lifelong learning is the idea that you are never finished educating yourself and growing. Lifelong learning can take on many forms and is constant and never-ending. Business success and lifelong learning have an obvious connection when you look at performance. Employees that go for self directed learning opportunities show greater performance in their jobs. It’s as simple as that. This is a huge benefit to the work community, both for large projects and day-to-day tasks. Employees who believe they can be successful in different situations have self-efficacy. This is crucial for lifelong learners who will have to find new ways and means to learn.

I have always been told over the years from my many important mentors that according to research conducted at Harvard Business School, “taking time to reflect on our work improves job performance in the long run".
