Fighting change is a natural bias that everyone experienced, both in the professional world and in the personal sphere (moving apartment, separating from a spouse, changing eating habits, and so many more examples you could imagine) But sometimes change is deeply necessary. It is not necessarily unavoidable, but if you don't accept its necessity, you will run into a wall and fail hard. In the business sphere, I think organisations should always fight loud and clear the human habit of fighting change, to protect the company and make individuals grow. One thing managers can do in that sense is fighting the "effort bias" (when someone in your team values an ongoing project, just because they've put some hard work in it in the past).

Identifying the topics where your knowledge is insufficient to take clear decisions is definitely the first step towards taking better decisions. Whenever you feel like you are uncomfortable with a topic, you don't understand deeply what is at stake and the possibilities, try to structure your thoughts as much as you can and list your questions. This is a way of setting learning objectives: what do you want to learn? what questions must you be able to reply? what key elements of reflexion must you understand?

In addition to attending formal business strategy courses, I also got involved in online discussion groups, took part in webinars and read a variety of books on the subject. This allowed me to gain a more holistic and up-to-date understanding of practices and trends in business strategy, thus enriching my decision-making and strategic approaches.

Asking around you, to peers, friends, investors, anyone who encountered similar problems, is the fastest way i've found so far to ramp-up extremely fast on a topic. It also allows you to build super good and meaningful connections overtime.

After completing a strategy development project for a company, I took the time to reflect on the process, the results achieved and the lessons learnt along the way. This reflection allowed me to identify areas where I could have applied different approaches or where my understanding of certain concepts could be deepened, thus informing my future approach to similar projects.

Whether it's a quarterly off-site or a weekly check-in with my team, I believe it's crucial to step back, assess our progress, and identify areas for improvement. This allows us to continuously refine our business strategy and stay ahead of the curve. Ultimately, in my experience, the most effective business leaders are those who embrace a lifelong learning mindset. By continuously seeking out new knowledge, challenging assumptions, and experimenting with innovative approaches, we can enhance our strategic decision-making and drive sustainable growth for our businesses.

Staying adaptable & current with industry trends would be one of the most effective ways to enhance Business Analysis skills (including skills on Business Intelligence tools), since BA skills get advanced even more & more these days. Especially, wide implementation of AI would be a good example in this case. There are lots of online training channels (in texts & video clips) for BA skills & BI tools, many of them at no cost. It would be great to take advantage of those “free” learning opportunities. When it comes to BA & BI, lots of things happen online & virtually (with using tools & reports), so reading business industry articles and news regularly would be very helpful as well.

In my experience as a woman business owner, one of the key factors that has enhanced my success in business strategy is a commitment to continuous learning. One thing I've found helpful is to constantly seek out new information, ideas, & perspectives from a diverse range of sources. Whether it's attending industry conferences, reading widely across business & leadership publications, or engaging with mentors & peers, I'm always eager to expand my knowledge & challenge my assumptions. By stepping outside my comfort zone & exposing myself to new concepts, I was able to identify valuable opportunities for growth & innovation. Another important aspect , in my experience, is a willingness to experiment and take calculated risks.

If you keep putting the same learning you revolve but if you keep learning you evolve. P.s: learning comes from mindset. Every day should be a day where you observe something new and implement it, in case it’s valid.

Continuous learning is often mentioned as a straightforward solution for growth, but requires more precise definition to truly be effective. Many of us treat it as mere lip service, a simplistic answer to complex development needs. Consider the risk of continuously learning with incorrect methods or skills, actually worsen our capabilities rather than improve them. I propose that we evolve from continuous learning to continuous research. While learning often focuses on perfecting through repetition, research drives us to identify and understand the most impactful aspects of what we learn, ensuring it aligns with the larger objectives we aim to achieve. This shift to dynamic researching can lead to more substantial and relevant outcomes.
