Here's how you can foster a culture of feedback among your staff members.

One thing I have found helpful is to suppress a revenge attitude or way of doing things. Instead, a leader, apart from what is said above, should encourage his/her staff by developing integrity in all its aspects as required by the work ethics. This is the best way to set up a model.

Creating a culture of feedback among staff members starts with being open to receiving feedback. Think of the school as a beach ball: each person stands on their own panel and sees only their panel's color. Great leaders help everyone on the beach ball understand the entire view. When people see their place within the organization, they feel a sense of ownership in advancing the school's goals. It's crucial for school leaders to listen to and act on feedback from teachers, parents, and students because leaders are also on a panel of the beach ball and don't see the whole picture alone. Feedback can be challenging to hear, but when taken in context and not personally, it becomes a powerful tool for growth.

Setting goals, targets and/or objectives is the best way to review an activity or task course. If the goals, targets and/or objectives are not clearly set, work will look like a journey without a destination and the traveler (in this the worker) will resemble a tramp who is just roaming around.

Do not be judgemental as a leader. No behaviour is absolute, because it is a response to the context or environment in which someone is operating from. Training is like sketching a building and/or defining the foundation on which the other building parts will be put. Stones will take us to a strong foundation. A sand foundation can be swept by floods and wind. Good training will take us to objective feedback. Bad or lack of training will leave the workers in an aimless, empty context where feedback will not have a foundation.

Regular check-ins reinforce the leader's presence and recognition of his/her leadership by the staff under him or her. Motivation comes out through regular check-ins. So meetings should cover different topics: instructions, observations, evaluation, social gatherings, team work...

Rewarding the staff who give feedback and do a good job is a big incentive. It not revamps the staff morale, but also triggers zeal and the spirit to do things well.
