Very paramount. Most professionals in the teaching fraternity have put aside self care and as well prioritising their duties in order to differentiate between house work and your professional work. And this has lead to the lack of love for the work.

A skill professors need to employ more because we say a human being always remembers 10% of what they are taught but 90% of what they do, hence these discussions will sharpen the students instead of being treated as a timeout for the professor. Also I prefer to use an office chair which I can be leaning on whilst they are having their group discussions so that my presence can be felt.

Being organised makes the lecturing to go smoothly in such a way that the body will not be wrecked while teaching. The body has a certain response if the lecturing went well, it quickly rests, hence self care prioritised. But if the lecture was a mess, the body does not pick rest easily.

If you answer emails only during certain hours, make it known. By setting these boundaries, you allow yourself uninterrupted time to relax and engage in activities that rejuvenate you, ensuring that you return to your teaching duties refreshed and focused.
