Here's how you can navigate failure as a project manager.

Let's rethink how we view failure in our projects. Every project is a unique journey filled with risks, and sometimes unforeseen obstacles can affect our timelines, costs, or quality. So such challenges are inevitable. Instead of pointing fingers and blaming, let's recognize and appreciate everyone's efforts, understanding that mistakes are a natural part of the process, helping us learn and grow. It's important to actively listen and empathize, as any issue or failure impacts everyone within the project differently. So, as a team and with our stakeholders if necessary have a meeting acknowledge these and focus on what went wrong?, why?, and most importantly, how can we take corrective action moving forward?

We went through a setback rather than calling it a failure. What we did was, had a detailed and honest conversation with client. I understood their concerns and took responsibility. I came up with a recovery plan. I reiterated the project goals and worked according to the priorities. Worked with the team to foster growth mindset and took feedbacks. Lastly being flexible and adaptable and being ready for challenges is most important.
