Job Searching is hard enough, without additional stresses, so my advice, is protect your savings and your finances, by getting any job, to keep money coming in, whilst you look for the dream job.

Situations will differ so I like to focus on the universals. This fund, as all currency, (I prefer “harvest” over “emergency” because of the word’s inherent connotation associated with fear) offers time. The more in this fund, the more time is available to focus. There may be a need to tap into it but I recommend to have a limit of how much to deplete while considering other options: - What can be liquidated to replenish the fund? - What’s the quickest (might be outside industry) job that can be acquired so the fund is protected? - What can be created to serve people that opens up new channels to receive currency?

In this scenario, it depends on where you stand with credit balances. If healthy, credit is a form of grace and time collapse, enabling you to quickly gain access to resources without having to immediately touch liquid currency. This can be used for resources with longer-range value like experiences to improve skills which can create more opportunities, or accumulate nutrition to remain vibrant. Everyone’s financial health differs but in general: treat credit like it’s your personal bank; set a strict limit with a % of your total credit limit to avoid exceeding, even if you have $10k you don't go beyond $200 for example; refrain from using it to acquire luxuries (or any item) if unable to pay off the full balance to avoid interest.
