Traditional academia often lacks access to the production process, focusing instead on analyzing games in their final form. Because of it, the hurdles designers encounter during creation are completely absent from the teaching process. This is why it's so important for industry professionals to instruct future generations. We must share our knowledge of what making games really involves and prepare students for the challenges they will face if they choose to enter this industry.
