Here's how you can prepare for an interview by researching the company.

I believe the BEST ways to research a company before an interview is by visiting their website, visiting their profile on Glassdoor and/or just doing a quick Google search. By visiting their website, you can see who the company is, what they do, and if their mission aligns with something you want to be apart of. By visiting their profile on Glassdoor, you can see real raw reviews left by current/past employees for each role. You are able to compare salaries/pay rates, benefits, culture or just their day to day responsibilities.

Failing to prepare is preparing to fail. Turning up to an interview without having researched the company will definitely become apparent. In my experience, I look at the companies website to find out their core values and their mission around DEI. I also look at current employees on LinkedIn to see what their posting about. Another thing to consider is company reviews, do people enjoy working there? Are their salaries and packages competitive? Are there opportunities to progress? The interview is just as much for you as it is for them, do your research and make sure the company is the one you *want* to work for.

In my specialty, visiting a company website is very important. I work exclusively with Architects and Engineer and the types of projects a company does is important to them. Plus it gives them a chance to browse the staff to see if they know anyone already there.

Tips to prep for an interview below: -It is important to visit a company website to understand the values of a business and if that is something you can relate to as an employee. -Looking at the social media posts, blogs is always a good way to spearhead your application. -Social Media (LI, Insta, Facebook) is the place companies announce new partnerships, client wins or new employees. -Knowing more than what the website shows, will show that "you" as an applicant have gone that extra mile compared to other applicants.

You're never expected to be an expert, but if you are selected for an initial interview you should always have a basic understanding of what the company does and/or the value proposition of the product they sell before you get on a call with a recruiting or hiring manager. Take 10-20 minutes before an interview to browse their website and LinkedIn page, review their career page or Glassdoor reviews, and understand at a high level what the company goals are. If a candidate can't tell me anything about what my company does, it shows a lack of interest and could likely land them in the 'reject' pile.

Some steps that can help would be to research the company, understand what it does, its purpose, research about climate through glassdor and visit the Linkedln profile of the professionals who work in that company. A selection process should be a good agreement for both parties, company and candidate, the candidate should also evaluate whether the company is consistent with their values and expectations.

Use Social Media Platforms: Check their social media profiles on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc. These platforms can let you see their latest news, events, and how they interact with their audience. Read Recent News and Press Releases: Use a search engine to find the company's recent news and press releases. These can give you an idea about their latest achievements, ongoing projects, future plans, and business goals.

Understand the Job Role: Specifically, understand the details given in the job description. Know what skills and experiences they are looking for in a candidate and how your qualifications align.

In General: Researching the company's website and social media to grasp its culture, values & mission, will help you: *see if the company’s values and mission resonate with yours. *understand the organization and position better and will help you form a first impression if this could be a good fit for you. *come up with thoughtful questions that go beyond the basics, showing you’re genuinely interested. *tailor your answers during the interview to reflect your knowledge of the company, making your responses more impactful. *show the interviewers that you’re invested in the opportunity and not just going through the motions. Not preparing is like an interviewer not reading your CV; it shows a lack of interest and effort.
