How can data inspire creative ideation?

Finding the right data is important, but knowing how to design data processing and restructuring can be equally significant when driving creative ideation. This becomes particularly useful when designing surveys for customer interactions. The ability to weave together disparate data points can help to paint a clearer picture of customer needs and preferences. By doing this, you enable multi-path analysis that allows you to better understand what customers are interested in, pinpoint pain-points in existing offerings, and, as a result, ideate and then design more targeted solutions.

Because each platform and channel puts its own emphasis on certain KPIs or timing benchmarks, I find it much more useful to create my own spreadsheets for weekly, monthly, and annual tracking. We all learn from data - some of it the quantitative, numerical sets we may expect and others from qualitative or even unstructured datasets we don't. The data isn't important, instead its the insight we generate from it and all creativity comes from an insight.
