There are really situation where the context of use will be so important that feedbacks you receive without this context have very little value. There are some type of tests that people do not really think of like daily diary or role playing which are very efficient approaches.

When you segment your users, you should really think which criterias have a huge impact on your users needs, behaviours and segment them based on these. For example, if you think that people who commonly use a certain type of digital tool will have a very different vision that people who are not, you should notably segment your testers based on this criteria. When you are working on an innovation product, be careful not to eliminate too early some segment of users.

you should look for commonalities and discrepancies in the answers. Normally, in a same segment, answers, behaviours should be consistent, if there are not, it often means that you have to rethink your segments and that criteria you were thinking was important is not so much and that other criteria is more critical. In my experience for example, on a project around silver economy although we thought that age was the main criteria, it appears that the segments "single" or "in couple" were much more relevant.

qualitative results should not be over interpreted ! Do not hesitate to consider that the learnings on feedback sessions are new hypothesis to test in different ways. Keep in mind that your tests results are not your decisions, but they should enlighten them and make you realize the risk you accept to take. Sharing the learnings are critical to be a learning company.
