How can you create a safety culture in oil and gas?

To create a safety culture in the oil and gas industry: -Demonstrate leadership commitment. -Establish clear safety policies and procedures. -Involve and empower employees. -Provide comprehensive safety training. -Encourage open communication and reporting. -Enforce safety rules and hold individuals accountable. -Conduct regular safety audits and inspections. -Foster a culture of continuous improvement. -Recognize and reward safety achievements. -Collaborate with industry peers for benchmarking - and learning.

I think that need to made good safety culture ,the let the people follow the safety rules not only under the leadership control, also they made it as habit for themselves. Because all the safety rule and conditions main requirements protect human health.

First and foremost, the organization must have established standards, procedures, and policies. These include risk management, hazard identification, incident reporting and investigation, employee engagement, E.g., Safety Committees, etc. These policies, standards and procedures comprise one aspect of the organization's safety or excellence management system. Without this, you will not have the necessary elements to engage, empower, assess and manage occupational safety in the workplace.

Leadership Commitment: Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety at all levels of leadership. Leaders should prioritize safety, communicate its importance, and lead by example. Training and Competency Development: Provide extensive safety training for all employees. Ensure that workers are not only aware of safety procedures but are also competent in implementing them. Offer ongoing training to keep employees informed about new safety standards. Open Communication Channels: Establish open lines of communication for reporting safety concerns and incidents. Encourage a no-blame culture where employees feel comfortable reporting hazards or near misses without fear of reprisal.

✔First of all, myself I follow safety rules so that I can demand it from my subordinates and others. ✔Host frequent safety seminars, share easy-to-understand safety instructions, practice emergency scenarios, and use online platforms to quickly deliver safety instructions.

Leaders at all levels within the organization must "Walk the Talk" when it comes to safety expectations across the entire organization. The transition to an intentional safety culture takes time and discipline. Safety MUST be a Core Value within the organization, NOT a priority and prized as such.

Monitoring and measuring safety performance relies on many factors but condensing them down to two overarching types is essential. These are planned, proactive audits against the organization's and regulators policies, standards and procedures using an experienced lead auditor and the inclusion/participation of operational leaders and employees. Secondly, you need to establish a 'reactive' observation program, E.g. Safety Observation Program, GEMBA walks, 360 degree feedback assessments, Hazard Hunts, etc. These are conducted as part of the organization's normal work activities. Metrics from both should be established to have an objective means of assessing Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats to safety.
