Involving the team sounds like reaching the objective of the workshop is the moderators responsibility, but it's not. It's the participants' responsibility. The facilitator just keeps track of the process. And having a dedicated facilitator that keeps track of the time, the energy, the goal, that fact that everybody should be heard and included is the most important ingredient for a successful workshop.

After conducting a fruitful presentation just send all the participants a thankful email for their precious time and summarize all the key points and analyze the data and outcomes of it.

Send a follow-up email to all participants thanking them for their participation and summarizing the key points discussed during the workshop. Include any action items or next steps that were identified during the session.

I often discuss responsibilites as one of the last agenda points of a workshop. Who's doing what next and who's coming together when. If the topics discussed or worked on affect all the participants they should leave with some homework, todos, whatever you may call it. Else it's me as a facilitator working the hardest trying to achieve goals that only the participants can achieve themselves.

Create a culture where everyone feels safe to provide feedback. Providing constructive feedback to your supervisor is not weak. It’s a sign of strength and helps both individuals. Ask your team what they need from you. Have the courage to ask for feedback and help by setting the example. Set up touch bases, round tables, and speak to all levels not just management. This will create that safe environment and open up the dialogue to get the feedback that can help change a culture. Be open to all feedback it is a gift and should not be taken personally . The team that can provide feedback, accept feedback and move forward is unstoppable .

Conduct an evaluation of the workshop to gather feedback from participants. This can be done through surveys, feedback forms, or one-on-one conversations. Ask participants about their overall experience, what they found valuable, and any suggestions for improvement. Take the time to carefully review the feedback received from participants. Identify common themes, areas of improvement, and any positive feedback that can be shared with the team. Share the learnings and outcomes of the workshop with the wider team or organization. This can be done through presentations, or sharing key insights during team meetings. Sharing the learnings helps disseminate knowledge and ensures that the impact of the workshop reaches beyond the participants.

Select a location that is conducive to learning and interaction. Consider the physical setup and how it can be arranged to support your workshop's activities. Choose a time that works for the majority and when participants are likely to be most engaged. Also, ensure the schedule includes breaks to keep energy levels high. Prepare all necessary materials and technology in advance to prevent problems. This includes handouts, AV equipment, and access to any digital platforms.
