Dress code encouraged. Sure! Once you have mindfully selected a venue and decor to support your luxury theme, pay careful attention to the mood you set before your guests arrive at the event! Invest in professionally designed invitations (digital or print, the latter being most appropriate) and be sure all promotion of the event sets the luxurious mood. Have it designed to be thoroughly on-brand and avoid over-promising. Plan to Valet cars and coats. Stress a dress code. I recommend "Cocktail Attire" as it offers the most room for interpretation. "Black Tie" events are fun but tend to risk a sensation of pressure. Folks still love a reason to don their finest and, when they get to, the ceremony of it even adjusts their posture and behavior.

Fun doesn't happen on it's own, and people don't talk to people outside of their immediate social circle.
