Having the courage to share your personal story can light the path for someone else with the same challenges you have faced. We are all channels of love and beacons of light. Our “mess” can become our message. And sharing is caring ❤️🙏

The most important aspect of sharing your personal story is being authentic. Authenticity means being honest, vulnerable, and genuine. It means showing your personality, emotions, and opinions.

For me writing your personal story is just that - it's your story! I write as I talk in an open manner and I don't try to be something I'm not. If people don't resonate with that so be it. I'm never going to have everyone like me although I certainly hope the majority do! It's all about being honest, authentic, genuine - all those things. It's about being open with your feelings and it certainly is not something written by AI. Certainly the way you write it can capture more people although I believe the more natural you are, the right people will respond to that. I am who I am!

I created my content and started to post with a sole objective - to initiate thought provoking views and conversations while building a community. What is your purpose? There has to be one/more - unless you have your purpose defined - you will keep on exploring ways, over consuming social media. Aligning your purpose with your values will help get answers easily.

Having a clear purpose is not just a guiding star, but also the compass that should set the course for your social media journey. A well-defined purpose not only directs your content but also acts as a litmus test for authenticity. Audiences can easily detect fabricated or self-serving narratives. Remember, you're not simply sharing a story; you're forging a bond with your audience, inviting them to join you on your remarkable journey.

In personal development, be it mindset, emotional intelligence, or any other topic, speaking the language of your target audience is paramount. The reach on social media is massive and there are so many folks out there that you might never know if you start thinking too hard about your "target audience". Share your story. Make it engaging. Have a call to action of some sort... That's a great start!

When I share my knowledge, I hope it is helpful. When I share my personal experience, from my heart, with the emotions that are often raw and real, I know I touch people's hearts. Their response to my giving voice to what they may not know how to express, connects us in a deep and meaningful bond. I am always grateful for the comments that have come when I post a poem to my late daughter. Somehow sharing the grief - and the gratitude - helps us all heal.

In today's digitally connected world, choosing the wrong platform is like delivering a Shakespearean soliloquy in a rap battle—it just doesn't fit, you know? Consider your target audience's preferred platforms and the nature of your story. Is it visual? Go for Instagram or Pinterest. Is it a thought-provoking narrative? Medium or a podcast might be better. Got a killer presentation? Try a webinar. It's not just about finding your audience but showcasing your story in its best light. If the platform doesn't support your authentic storytelling, the message can get lost or diluted. So, always match the medium to the message for maximum impact.

My recommendation is that you pick one of the larger social media platforms to start with. They all allow you to get a wider reach, feedback and engagement through comments and personal messaging. Build from there.

Stick around after your post went live. Make sure you respond to any comments you get. Reach out to folks commenting with direct messages. Remember: It's called "social" media for a reason.
