Too often I have seen execs try and be visionary and implement projects that don’t fit in their organization. This can lead to misalignment, employee unhappiness or even loss of market share. Fact: Every business decision, especially regarding strategy, is an educated guess. It might be the wrong decision, or of only a mediocre success. The experienced, hopefully objective final decision-makers are NEVER correct 100% of the time. The good ones step back after a while and reevaluate the results. If the results are less successful than anticipated it is likely time for another decision: keep at it and hope for the best, or - probably the wise choice - is to rethink the entire process. Always remember: there is no right way to do the wrong thing.
