How can you incorporate international experiences into your research?

In my research project, I provide an illustrative example focusing on scientific collaboration between developed and developing countries, with specific case studies examining research collaborations between the US and Thailand. The selection of this topic is rooted in both my professional and personal experiences, granting me access to pertinent data sources and enabling insights from the parties involved. This alignment enhances the authenticity and depth of my investigation into the dynamics of international scientific partnerships, contributing to a more nuanced understanding of collaborative practices between countries with distinct economic profiles.

I think, Incorporating international experiences into research should involve the followings: Collaborative Networks: We can foster partnerships with international institutions, enabling access to diverse perspectives, resources, and data. Fieldwork and Exchange Programs: We could engage in fieldwork or exchange programs, immersing in different cultures to gather firsthand data and insights. Cross-Cultural Analysis helps to Compare findings across diverse regions, considering cultural nuances, societal contexts, and global implications. International Conferences help us in sharing research and gaining exposure to varied perspectives.

For my doctoral studies, for example, the American Institute of Sri Lankan Studies was not just a community of scholars, but also a funding agency, a support network, and a sounding board. For those based in the USA, there are similar such organizations for all kinds of places/countries; you can find dozens of "American Institute of/for X Studies."
