How can you increase your visibility and reach on social media?

It's so important to remember the "why" when it comes to social media marketing - why are you posting this piece of content? Why should your audience care about it? Why are you the authority on the topic? When you have clear answers to these questions, what to post becomes much clearer and strategic.

If your goal is to get inbound leads, you would be focusing on how many of your TA have seen your post, who have responded and who got converted. But for the same goal you wouldn't focus on getting likes or increasing reach. So having clear goals is the best thing you can do while you get started with creating content. Now what to do to increase reach and visibility online? 1: Have clarity 2: Focus on your TA pain points 3: Repurpose your content into different formats 4: Track your metrics often. 5: Analyse your results. Once you're done with analysing you can make adjustments like changes to your content, strategy, or scheduling accordingly.

While social is a great place to share news stories and OPC (other people's content), it's becoming a bit of a go-to for people to stay active, basically, the minimum amount of work you can do to be on social media. But it's the original insight that is driving visibility and reach, even if it's an original insight or thought about a news story. Give me a tip, give me advice, give me something I'm not going to read in the story you're sharing, not just a short summary. That is the type of thing I'm going to share and remember you.

Can you reach your destination, if you put a wrong address in your GPS? Same way you can't reach your business goals, if you don't know where exactly you want to end up. Knowing your goals and understanding your metrics are so important when it comes to increasing your visibility on social media. It's easy for anyone to set goals for themselves personally, and for social media, but where the real challenge lies in the application. Not the application of how social media works, but the human being behind applying what they have learned in order to reach their goals and get the KPIs that need to be measured to see what they are doing is or is not working. If you want to achieve your goals and have scalable and measurable KPIs, make sure you are applying what you are learning in how you are using social media to grow your business and generate sales.

I’ve had a lot of success with using photos of myself in my posts and doing the same in my clients’ posts. More than ever, people want to do business with people they know, like and trust. A photo of yourself humanizes your content and helps your connections and potential employers or clients get to know you better. Photos also help to establish trust and authenticity, which can help build stronger professional relationships. Including a photo in your posts can increase your engagement. Visual content tends to stand out in busy social media feeds and can capture people's attention more effectively than text-only posts.

On LinkedIn, your most previous real estate is your Headline and your profile picture. Why? It's what everyone sees of you! Even if you join an audio event. What makes a Stellar Headline? ✔️First sentence: Don't use your job title here! Think strategically about what you'd like people to know about you. The most important thing. ✔️2nd sentence: Show social proof. Did you work with well known clients? Got awards? ✔️3rd sentence: CTA: Tell people what to do. Want them to book a call? Your profile image is key on all social media platforms. It's what people see when they first interact with you. Other main features on social media are: - Banners: Make sure these stand out and have clear CTA. Make sure you are really spelling it out to the people. Let them know what you want them to do. - Bio: This the place to not only tell people who you are but also the type of content that they should expect to see from you - Contact info: Make sure this is updated and all links are relevant and working

Your profile in many ways is your online storefront. It's where first impressions are made, so make it count. When optimizing your profile, you need to make it fun and inviting. Use clear, compelling images, a catchy bio, and crucially, include links to your website or shop. It's about creating an irresistible window display that screams "Come in, we're open!" In social media it's prime real estate, so use it to let people know who you are, what you do, and how you're different.

One area that many miss is how to handle negative community engagement. The time to think about how you’ll respond to negative (or positive) comments on a post isn’t when you see them. Some questions you want to ask yourself - Which comments will just be deleted (Inappropriate or defamatory ones are trashed, fast) - Which comments will be sent to an SME in the company for more info and a response - Which comments will get a message asking for a DM conversation - What type of response they’ll give in the interim There’s more, but these are the big ones. Companies may make different decisions about how to handle negative comments…there is no right answer. But, there is a wrong one. Don’t leave negative comments sitting & stinking.

In 2023, it's all about relationships and community! Unfortunately most people use outdated strategies like creating tons of content. Here is one of my Ninja Strategies that works incredibly well : 🍃Make a list of 10 people you want to build a relationship with this month. Those can be Influencers, conference organizers, prospects... 🍃Bookmark their activities page on LinkedIn 🍃Ring the bell next to their name so you are notified immediately as they post content 🍃Note what time they post. Most people have a routine. 🍃Be on LinkedIn at that time so you can be the first to comment to their content consistently! After few times, they will notice you! You got this! Building relationships on social media is key. People support people who support others. Here are some ways to build relationships on social media. - Comment and engage with their content- it helps if you are one of the first ones! - Get on a call- if this is someone you are looking to build a relationship with, then get on a call! - Collaborate! Whether it's a live event or an in-person event- work on collaborating to grow both audiences!

I call this the headphones over megaphones approach to marketing. The best brands are always listening to their audiences. A rule I use for my clients is for every post you publish, share one post and comment on ten posts.

Ninja trick: All social platforms reward early adopters, people who use their latest features so be on the lookout for latest features and jump on them immediately. The platform will help you get tons of Reach and visibility for helping them! Also, one of my most viral posts was for a B2C company on LinkedIn, where I used a very un-typical content to what others post on LinkedIn. So don't follow the "herd". I regularly vary up my posts - I use short-form videos, carousel posts, polls, infographics, visual listicles, quotes and images of me in my posts. All of these work well to increase engagement and help “stop the scroll.” Try a combination of these and vary it up. I also repurpose my posts using different elements of these tactics. So maybe one week I will post a piece of content using a video and then the next week I’ll do an image. Experimentation is key!

Social media platforms like when you are utilizing all of their features. At the end of the day, their goal is to keep you on their app!! Having different types of content also keeps your audience engaged. People react to different types of content so keeping your format different, will help you reach more people.

Consistency does not mean posting every day! That strategy is outdated. It's also a myth that you need to be on all platforms. If you are focused on 2/3 platforms where your audience hangs out and go all in there, your ROI would multiply! 2 times a week is more than enough to build your Thought Leadership and generate Sales on most platforms! Remember: The name of the game in 2023 is building relationships. Focus more of your time to make your ideal clients seen and heard than creating content As long as you are consistent with those 2 times! So define which frequency you can commit to with the resources you have. And remember: Once you have your strategy set, you can easily outsource the content creation part.

When it comes to content marketing, remember that consistency is important but quality is even more important. Don’t sacrifice the quality of the content just because you feel like you need to post every day. In fact, you don’t need to post every day to be successful at social media marketing. But you do need to do is be consistent and provide content of value that helps to keep your top of mind but the people who can hire and refer work to you.

Consistency is key! Being on 2 platforms consistently is more important than being on all social media platforms and hardly posting. Consistency doesn't mean you need to post everyday. You can be consistent with: - your messaging -your colors and aesthetic - your tone - your post format The goal is to have consumers recognize your content before they see your name.

It’s really simple. The biggest thing you can do and how I discovered this post: by commenting on other posts. Find influencers in your area of interest, set reminders / notifications and engage on their posts. That garners more views outside your current audience than any other tactics seen and also is community building.

Always be genuine. No one wants to read about your product every single day. You come off like a desperate salesperson looking to close a deal at all costs. Share stories of your life and career (whatever you're comfortable with, you don't have to overshare). Make your presence stand out. With every post always keep at the top of your head this thought: "Why should my audience care?" If you can't think of the answer to that question, it's not worth posting.

Not all platforms reward all content equally. Some social platforms are more pay-to-play and others have more of a content relevancy score built into their feed. Work with the vendors and follow social experts on each platform to understand the unique nuances of each and what types of content will get rewarded and highlighted.
