However, a team/organization must be mindful of ensuring proper trainings and hands-on trails for the users before giving them a tool to use. Developers are the people who are expected to update the ALM(Agile Lifecycle Management) tool like JIRA, Azure boards, Asana etc. However, as they lack skills to use it they end up not updating it on real-time basis, resulting to non-transparent boards.

To keep the product backlog visible and up-to-date, utilize digital tools like project management software or dedicated Agile tools that allow easy access and real-time updates for all team members. Regularly review and prioritize backlog items based on changing requirements and stakeholder feedback. Hold frequent backlog grooming sessions to refine and clarify user stories, ensuring they remain relevant and actionable. Well, DEEP criteria may always not be true for visual boards. While the DEEP criteria is a good to have, we must remember that the product backlog is a long-lived evolving dynamic placeholder. Something that is a part of a PB today may move out tomorrow. Detailing must be done only when the Product Owner is more or less certain about the priority and order of the PBIs.

Collect as much data as feasible to obtain the most precise estimation of the issues and their corresponding business value.

When we talk of experiments, it reminds me that someone once asked me, if there is a Sprint Event that we can do without? However, each and every event is crucial and important in its own way, but if the team does a decent job at Backlog Refinement and breaks it up in Technical and Functional refinement sessions then may be we can shorten the Sprint Planning session.
