In all above mentioned issues vandalism is rear case in fiber. but during digging or construction the fiber can be cut and damaged in this case we should ribbon sign so that construction team should know that, there is fiber. but in all cases there should be updated drawing GIS to secure the fiber. about the connectors we should be careful while installation and maintenance

In the 90s I was tasked with removing inter-duct from around active fiber and yes I cut it it would have been easier and cheaper to run new fiber change it over during downtime and then remove the entire pathway but they didn’t wanna go that route so they had to suffer the downtime consequence
