IMO: Create a prioritization framework, considering projects' impact on user satisfaction and business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders, development, and design teams for input. Maintain a dynamic approach, reassessing priorities as needed. Efficient execution and continuous monitoring ensure research addresses both business and user needs, resulting in lasting impact.

Defining UX research scope, objectives, and outcomes is pivotal for success. Through methods like stakeholder interviews, user personas, and usability testing, ensure your research aligns with user and business needs. However, staying aligned with stakeholders is equally important. To sync effectively with them, I recommend planning refinement sessions and regular reviews to check on the progress of the project.

In my years as a UX designer, I've learned that before diving into any research project, clarity is key. Understand deeply the issue at hand, its context, and the key players involved. This insight sets the tone for the project's scope, aims, and anticipated results. Tools like problem statements, user personas, journeys, and stakeholder maps have been invaluable in framing these contexts for me. Begin with a clear vision, and your research will pave the way for meaningful design outcomes

Before planning the research execution phase, designers must face three challenges to understand the problem and its context. Firstly, it's essential to communicate to stakeholders the vital role of research in the project's success. Secondly, it's imperative to make it crystal clear what the business ROI is. Lastly, all teams must be on the same page to prevent misunderstandings.

Prior to research you want to have a clear understanding of business goals and the problem you are trying to solve. However, it is important to be open minded to the discoveries from your research given they could mean a modification to what you originally thought the problem was.

Crafting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Relevant, Time-bound) research questions becomes vital. These should not just serve data collection, but more importantly, they must resonate with business goals and user needs. They're the compass that helps validate our design assumptions. From there, selecting the right method, be it interviews, usability tests, or others, becomes a strategic decision.

Questions has to be mix of open and Close for sure, but usually my priorities are mainly of these 2 types: 1. Ask only the questions, which response can be converted to a design decision. 2. Questions to build the Repo with respondents / or make them comfortable sharing any kind of feedback / data with me Ofcorse these will be mix set of Open & close questions but i do ask myself usually if i get the answer of my this questions, what kind of design decision i can take. If not, then let's remove this question from the list. This approach helps me be very focused in the interviews.

Once you know what you are trying to uncover, it'll tell you what research method you want to use. It's best to start here prior to crafting questions. On the other hand, if you want to get a general understanding for who the customer is and why they chose your product, a customer interview may be most informative. The guidance and questions that arise in each scenario will be very different based on the method.

While the Impact-Effort Matrix or the RICE Score are useful tools, it's important to also factor in the 'ripple effect' of your research. A project that might seem to have a limited impact could actually serve as a foundation for future, more impactful projects. Similarly, a project's feasibility shouldn't just be measured by immediate resource constraints but should also consider long-term scalability. The ideal projects to prioritise are those that not only align with current business goals and user needs but also set the stage for ongoing improvement and innovation by aligning with the wider vision and mission of the company.

When presenting the finding it is very important to carry along the participant’s voice-like using quotes and also where possible video clips or audios from the interview,where there is consent and where the identity of the participants can be protected.This helps the stakeholders to emphasize with the users,humanizing the insights,enhance credibility of the findings and contextualize data.

Once we have everything ready regarding our project, we should condense that information into functional data to determine if it will yield a positive outcome. The idea behind this is to ensure that everything we've done concerning solutions for our users is crystal clear, and every crucial interaction we've had with users is documented in a way that benefits the business we're working on. It's a detailed process, but as long as we meet our objectives, there's nothing to worry about.

So, the topic is about prioritization. Our world and economy runs on the exchange of currency. And those currencies are what the business will always refer back to. "When can we expect ROI?" "How much will this save us in payroll?" "How much can we expect our revenue to grow because of this new software/process/way-of-doing-things?" A company that can't put money in the bank is a company that will eventually fail. People have to be paid, and materials for production have to be purchased. It's all a cycle, and understanding this as a UXer will strengthen your position. I'm running into a character limitation now, but the point is to be aware and always ask questions that get responses in costs. That's a way to prioritize.

Throughout my professional journey, I've encountered instances where products significantly benefit from UX research and guidance aligned with user needs. However, a pivotal challenge often arises concerning Senior Leadership Team and stakeholder awareness. In numerous cases, companies prioritize growth and engagement while overlooking the importance of addressing user needs. To overcome this hurdle, it becomes important to establish a strong foundation of design and research within the leadership. Their support and perspective are instrumental in yielding successful outcomes.

In addition to the steps outlined above, I believe that ongoing iteration and refinement are crucial. UX research is not a one-off process but a continuous cycle of learning, adapting, and improving. Also, fostering a culture of curiosity and empathy towards users within your organization can greatly enhance the quality and effectiveness of your UX research.

Additionally to what have said, I highly recommend to add Cross-functional Collaboration. Making sure that you involve stakeholders from different departments to ensure alignment with business goals and get the right ROI (for real). You can also collaborate with product managers, marketing, and developers to gather input and support — in this way (almost) everyone will definitely gain a better understanding of why and how you prioritize UX research project that eventually will have a big contribution on business goals and user needs in a long term basis.

When I started learning UX Research, I felt it was a one off process. You just do it and then move on. I got to realize that User Research is an ongoing process even after the product is out in the market. It requires continuous iteration and tweaking. Ultimately, it's good to involve the stakeholders on your research progress and continuously check if your research is in line with the business goals.
