Aside from resin printers, most conventional 3d printers that print plastic create prints that need further processing, usually with hazardous chemicals. There may be use of acids, environmentally hazardous spray paint or even chemical based thinners used to smoothen the surface of the print and give it a polished look. These "finishing" chemicals are usually not taken into account during the "environmental" audit of the 3d printing solution and should be considered for their environmental impact as well.
