How can you use brand strategy to become a better leader?

Another perspective on brand purpose is what your customers say about you. Purpose is to serve the customer and solve a problem they have.

Leaders are not born; they are created. What is brand strategy, and where do we start with it? The flow is -The golden circle -MVP (Mission, Vision, and Purpose) -Target Audience Group -Brand Archetype -Brand tone of voice -Brand positioning statement -Market positioning statement -Competitor analysis -Brand culture -Brand story Once a person is clear on these things, he knows that they cannot be achieved without a team. So he follows his strategy and becomes a great leader for his team, especially those who believe in his purpose. This is how a leader is created with a strong, brady strategy.

Keeping true to your brand ethos and values, defines your brand identity. The audience you are targeting should be able to comprehend your purpose and reason of being. If you have been able to conquer that, half your job is done. It’s now about sustaining, staying true to your brands beliefs and maintaining the quo you set in the first place. Audiences nowadays care more about what you support, your morals, rather than just the look and feel of your brand. It’s the essence that makes the cut to standing out.

The only thing that keeps your brand alive is its purpose. Consider this Nike scenario: "to break barriers and build community in order to change the game for all." This is a major reason why this brand has a lengthy history and continues to inspire athletes and sportspeople around. Only the brand's purpose allows it to remain for an extended period of time. There is no vision or mission if there is no purpose. Clarify and adhere to your brand's purpose. Note: A brand's purpose should be drawn from how it improves society; what value it gives to society is more important than producing money or profit.

When a brand has a purpose to impact the lives of those who serves, the strategy becomes the story of that purpose, and what connects the brand with its audience. The brand purpose must be a mirror of the purpose of those listening.

Once you've identified your purpose and before you communicate your brand story, it's important to articulate your brand essence. Brand essence helps describe your brand in a short sentence. It helps guide how you communicate the brand and helps others understand how you're different vs your counterparts/competitors. A great leader can be easily described by their brand essence. To help build your brand essence, ask yourself the following questions: What are your brand attributes/qualities? Who is your target audience? (Who are the most important stakeholders) What is your brand personality? (How you want to be perceived by others) What are your brand benefits? (Functional & Emotional) What is your brand vision (Think long term)

In the air Your story exists in the market before your product or service does. Create a distinctive story about your brand and tell it to your target audience properly. People trust stories more and have a personal connection to them from a psychological standpoint. If your company has an inspiring narrative, share it with the world and make crucial connections. Tips for Creating Your Own Brand Story 1. Never, ever lie. 2. Keep things simple. 3. Make an emotional connection. 4. Have your target audience tell others about your story. 5. Maintain reality—no imagination or delusion. Prepare your brand story and sprinkle it in the air.

Brand story is necessary to connect with people. One thing I've learned throughout my experience is that customer buys with their emotions! And when you make them feel relatable & connected, they go for you. Storytelling is a great way to build credibility!

Every brand that is present in the market has a story behind it and once that story reaches the right target audience, it leaves a lasting impression for them to connect on an emotional level and hence increases your brand recall value in the mind of your customers whenever they are looking for a certain product or service which your company provides. A convincing story will help your Brand connect to newcomers and help you in customer acquisition on a larger scale. The way any Brand presents itself to the audience and the way it wants its target audience to perceive them as making all the difference for it to be successful.

The first target of create an impactful brand is to communicate and create connection to your audience. To have a successful brand you need a powerful inner narrative to write your brand story.

To be a better leader in my brand team, I would like to establish the brand promise, purpose, vision, mission, ethics, personality traits for the brands we work for as well as the whole team as such.

Culture is the key. Align your values, promises, and guidelines to create a positive work environment, or so-called culture. An effective culture helps your brand grow in a proper manner. In one word, care for your team like you do for your family, and everything will happen as you wish.

The brand culture is a reflection of the brand’s purpose. What the audience learns from the brand should be the values of its people. Care for your people and they will care for you.

But the culture has to be true and has to be extended to your employees as they are your ambassadors. If they love the company and embrace the products, they will promote it, with the true love and passion. I still see too many companies were culture are just words on a piece of paper, presentation or a poster on the wall.

When you determine your values you can build the brand culture which attract and make colleagues, ambassadors and customers interact and work all together with the feeeling of belonging to the same movement.

Never break your promises. What you promise must be delivered without exception. People will always be loyal to brands that deliver on their brand promises. Consider the following brands: Apple, Nike, Coca-Cola, Starbucks, and so on. They all last as long as they maintain their promises. Some brands originally promise specific things, but in the long term, they forget their promise and choose a different path. Those brands will not persist; people will quickly abandon them owing to a psychological factor. So keep your promises alive in order to keep your brand alive.

The bottom line of that brand promise is service. Exceed the expectations of your clients and you’ve already in the right path to the deliver that promise.

To deliver brand promise is crucial because one of the role of brands is to deliver a promise to audience and furthermore the world. Brands solve problems and contribute to make it a better place.

The SWOT analysis should be done regularly. At least every year. It will keep your brand adapting, adjusting and taking advantage of the new trends and market changes. Listen carefully to your audience, and adapting will be easier.

Absorption of data to engineer the strategy is the most crucial aspect. Every new data should be evaluated to check how can be used to maximise results. Easy method- hearsay data, jot on a notepad to see how can be used to propel closer to the brand vision.

Your service is your frontline. But your frontline is a reflection of your internal culture. If your people are happy, it will show. Your value is beyond a product or service, is also how you treat your internal customers. Serve your people and they will serve your customers with the same gratitude.

Brand building, when done right forces you to embrace good leadership. From obsessing over customer and employee satisfaction to finding your purpose, casting your vision and rallying people with a profound ideal. It forces you to become a good leader. You are literally "sweating the small stuff" and doing the unconventional things other founders and business leaders overlook. You might often catch yourself asking the question: what perception does my action elicit in the mind of my market and stakeholders. And not willing to take the route that leads to negative perceptions even when that promises short term profits. Brand strategy introduces you to this way of thinking.

Brand = identity Strategy = plan By having a clear identity for your brand; knowing what it stands for, what it is working towards, who it seeks to influence you can then create an intentional plan to strategically positioning the distilled narrative. Allowing you to become a lot more conscious in the communications you create as a leader that lean into your core brand identity and goals derived from your brand fundamentals.

Elevate Your Team Members as Brand Ambassadors Your team members are the face of your company, and they play a vital role in shaping your brand reputation. Encourage them to become brand ambassadors, actively promoting your company's values and achievements through their interactions with customers, colleagues, and the broader community.

Use your brand strategy as a guiding beacon of light to provide clear rationale to your team regarding why certain strategies are being formed or decisions are being made. Consistently referring back to your brand strategy demonstrates that you are anchored in your approach and that builds trust.
