If every single sentence is about you increasing sales growth by 450% then its not going to be a very believable resume (and its going to leave out a bunch of other important stuff). So I look for numbers in about 1/3 sentences

But - I reject the premise of this question that the goal of this exercise is to “improve your ATS score.” Focus your energy on wowing the people who will be reading your resume.

I rarely search my ATS by numbers, unless it's zip code. BUT, if your resume shows you have been a loyal employee for 14 years in the same company and you have progressively been promoted every few years over that time, the dates are important! (also numbers) Time in a role or with a company demonstrates many qualities, and promotions demonstrate growth/advancing skills. Be as accurate as possible with dates in resumes and harmonizing with LinkedIn profiles with months and years. These are 'gold' within an ATS!
