Trust me on this: Don't forget that it is SOCIAL. It's all about people and the connections we build with them. Even if it sounds contradictory - Share your true message. How? 1. actively participating in relevant discussions; 2. Sharing valuable content; 3. Networking, Networking, and Networking! It's worth noting that consistency and patience are key. Establishing your online presence requires time and mostly courage to “authenticate” yourself. ;)

One thing I found extremely helpful when seeking speaking opportunities was to cold call organizations I had interest in and pitch my niche. Not only did I land a great opportunity, one year I was asked to speak at their annual conference. Never be afraid to hear no.

There are almost an unlimited amount of places you can build a profile online. I would recommend building profiles across all social mediums and using tools to syndicate your content so you are everywhere at once. Hire VA's to handle engagement, or ai bots to handle them depending on your budget. Be sure to build profiles on speaking engagement sites, medium etc. to increase exposure and availability to be contacted. Last but not least build a outreach list to media outlets, conferences and send email campaigns with content or prior speaking engagements to reference to win new ones!

Create a speaker media kit that showcases your bio and speaking topics. You can post this on social media, use it for pitching and link this in your experience section.

A simple Google search for public speaking clubs or Toastmasters groups in your area is a great place to start! Eventbrite may also have some events that you can attend for free or small charge.

Joining NSA local and national chapter will serve as a great resource and community. There are also other speaking communities you should consider joining to build your network and find paid opportunities.

Create a hot list that you set alerts for on google for conferences, or top voices in particular fields. Engage with their content across platforms to put yourself top of mind. Share insights, promote them more than yourself to show you are invested and you know what you are talking about. If you put others first they will want to win together in the long run. Understand this takes time to be top of mind but if you are consistent you will eventually win.

Display how you add value quickly and effectively. There is so much talk and chatter in this space so it takes specific and evidence backed data to show your value.

I've been writing on LinkedIn pretty much every day for a year now and I can tell my writing skills improved considerably.
