How do you pitch a partnership proposal?

Highlight the shared values that make us a dynamic duo. Showcase the unique spark in our proposal and paint a vivid picture of the benefits they'll reap. Spice it up with visuals and a dash of interactivity. Address concerns with finesse and end with a clear call-to-action.

Ask yourself what your core values are and what your strategic vision is. Focus on communities and organizations where organic growth is something you would welcome and have the capacity to engage with.

In my experience, you should start from your clients and their needs. Talking to them and understanding what their experience with your product is, what is missing and which other technologies are connected to yours (here the Customer Success and Account Managers Teams can also play a role) is the best way to identify gaps and opportunities that represent your potential partner profiles. The Ideal Partner Profile should have your same Ideal Customer Profile.

Identifying the right partners is the core of an impactful planning for the year. Start with defining your market and look towards the analysts. Who has the largest market share, who has a great skills, is there pot. a great boutique partner in your area / niche. I am using 3 KPIs to prioritize: 1. Quality of offering + skill of the partner 2. Relevancy of client base & market share 3. Motivation to partner and succeed jointly

Later on you can define more "hard" KPIs around: Joint Investment, Events & Outreach, Pipeline & Deals.

If you share a vision, but are not aligned on incentives, then you might be happy together, but not necessarily successful by the metrics of your organizations. Check those two things and see how you can optimize your partnerships on these areas.

Signing up new partner is great achievement, yet it it's the beginning rather than the endpoint. The real work starts with onboarding, training, and go-to-market strategies. It's crucial to incorporate a sanity check during the partner acquisition process to ensure the partnership's longevity. Different businesses will have unique Key Success Factors (KSFs) for their partnerships. Follow these 3 simple steps: 1. Identify Key Success Metrics for the partnership with your organization 2. Present these metrics to the prospective partner. 3. Evaluate the prospect against these criteria to ensure alignment. A partnership is likely to fail if there's a mismatch and if the prospect is not fully committed to addressing some of the mismatch.

Research your audience: know their goals, needs, values, and challenges. Customise your proposal to their situation and show that you care. Highlight the edge that your partnership can provide. Keep your proposal short and to the point but include enough details to support your claims. Address objections upfront. Consider possible questions or concerns that your audience might have and answer them in your proposal. This shows that you have thought of the risks and challenges and that you have a solution for them. Finally, don't leave them wondering what to do next. Give clear instructions on how to proceed and follow up quickly.
