In my experience this is a great time to ensure you (the leader) have created a psychologically safe culture. Role and expectations clarity flourishes in a psychologically safe environment, where team members feel safe to share their perspectives, ask questions and engage in healthy conflict; this typically results in teammates feeling more bought-in and invested to the team’s goals and expectations.

If you can build a vision/mission/goals together then this is far more effective than dropping your vision on others. Spend time allowing people to get comfortable and excited by this

From a philosophical perspective, we are all different from each other. With a separation-oriented approach, we can all be divided into different groups. That's why we should forget this approach. Unfortunately, it is not easy for all of us to collectively reach this maturity... To bring together different groups within the organization, the main tool is a common goal. If correct HR planning has been done and the recruitment strategy is smooth, we have employees who embrace the company's goals. All that's left is to remind people of their common purpose and focus on it.

In today's digital age, having the right tools is crucial for collaboration, especially among distributed teams. Imagine a project milestone reached—taking a moment to recognize each member’s unique contributions can be powerful. Whether it’s a small ceremony, a heartfelt message from leadership, or a simple team lunch, celebrating together reinforces the team’s shared purpose and values. This approach doesn’t just boost morale; it builds a culture where every effort is valued and every success becomes a path toward even greater accomplishments. Just bring donuts next day to grab a coffee together and point out the success of a person or team did to cheer together.

It’s important for the leader to help motivate teammates to have, and demonstrate, a growth mindset. Leaders can model behaviors such as discussing their mistakes and lessons learned, allowing teammates to “fail safely” - where appropriate, refraining from applying discipline for a mistake but instead empowering the person to learn from it, and encouraging the team to plan the business by thinking of what’s possible versus just solving problems.

Bruise egos to help participants to learn. Many people won't actively learn or change by choice unless a bit of failure comes there way so find a way to generate that so they pay attention, seek out and absorb new information. Then make it easy to learn something new and create the space for them to apply it without overloading them

Start by implementing a mix of synchronous and asynchronous learning platforms that cater to different time zones and learning preferences, so all team members can participate. Use project-based learning, where team members from different locations collaborate on real-world projects, applying their skills and learning from each other in the process. Recognizing and celebrating achievements of these collaborative efforts publicly within the organization can further motivate and reinforce the value of teamwork and continuous learning.
