You have a brilliant idea for a creative solution to a problem, but how do you convince others that it works? Whether you are presenting to your boss, your clients, or your peers, you need to show the impact of your creative solutions in a clear and compelling way. 1 Define your goals

Personally, I find SMART goals too antiseptic for creative problem-solving. Begin with a vision. What do you want to be different? What will reality look like when you've solved the problem? Who will be most benefited and how? Borrowing from Simon Sinek and Jason Selk, design a little home movie in your head of what you want that also features why that matters. SMART goals are better for implementing solutions once we're those solutions are clearly designed. In the meantime, define your goals for your creative solutions *creatively.* Bring art into the process early and envision the ideal future, the future your desired solution will provide!

2 Collect data and evidence

Once you have your goals, you need to collect data and evidence to support your creative solution. Depending on the nature of your problem and solution, you may use quantitative methods (such as surveys, experiments, or analytics) or qualitative methods (such as interviews, observations, or case studies) to gather information. You may also use a combination of both to triangulate your findings. The data and evidence you collect should be relevant, reliable, and valid, and should address the questions and concerns of your audience.
